A Shadow Box frame uses archival foam spacers to recess your print in a range of depths to create this box-like framing treatment. The depth is determined by the depth of the moulding choice and requires minimum depth of 0.5″ spacers.
*Try adding a contrasting or matching coloured spacer using one of our archival mats!
Finish your photo print, inkjet print or stretched canvas is using a Floater Frame, which offers a more polished and enhanced look!
A Floater Frame is ideal with a laminated and backmounted photo print as a great alternative for those looking to frame work without glazing.
A Floating Shadow Box consists of a backmounted print that is centered and floated off a larger backerboard. It is then fitted within a frame, set away from the sides of the mouldings to reveal the paper edge.
The paper edges are often “deckled” or torn for a whimsical feel. The paper edge reveal is subject to your preference, but 0.75″-1″ is often recommended for the greatest effect.
Framing with a mat is a classic!
We only use acid-free mats in 4ply and 8ply thicknesses to ensure your artwork and photographs are properly preserved. Add a bit of additional decoration by including a second or third mat to enhance the look of your framed piece. We have a variety of colours to choose from and our staff are here to help you choose the best combinations!
You can also have multiple openings in a single mat to include multiple prints or even a small printed or engraved plaque!
Framing using Invisible Spacers is a style of framing ideal for framing to the edge of a borderless print to achieve a clean and polished look.
We use invisible spacers so your print never touches the glazing ensuring its conservation.
Frame your favourite mementos; a favourite album, your child’s amazing drawing, your grandmother’s locket.
This is a deep Shadow Box that is used to display three-dimensional objects. This is a great way of preserving an object while displaying it at the same time. Think Grandma’s crochet doilies, Grandpa’s military medals, your concert tickets from your first date, or perhaps even a vintage camera!
An artbox is created by mounting an Acrylic Facemounted or High Gloss laminated flush to a frame moulding of your choice.
Once hung on your wall you will have a beautiful borderless print with clean sides (available in a variety of colours, stains, finishes) to create a stunning display.
We can stretch existing canvas works or you can print your own!
Once printed we recommend laminating your print in a Matte or Lustre finish to keep your piece vibrant and protect it from fading. We have a variety of stretchers available ranging from 0.75″ – 2″ deep and we can mirror the edges of your image to create an image wrap, or we can simply finish the sides in a sleek black, white, or solid colour.
Canvas stretching is a great way to create a lightweight and ready to hang artwork!
